How does it work?
Running an internal flu programme doesn’t have to be hard work. Here’s how our onsite vaccination works in 5 simple steps:
1. Utilise our “register interest” service to gauge initial interest and cost.
2. Make use of our marketing material to internally promote the event to maximise attendance.
3. Invite your employees to choose a time slot for an appointment via our booking system. You will need to provide a suitable room with a table and two chairs.
4. Our nurse attends on the day of the appointments and administers the flu vaccination to everyone who has registered.
What happens on the day?
Here’s what happens on a typical day of onsite flu vaccinations:
1. Our qualified nurse will arrive at your workplace usually 30-45 minutes in advance (depending on traffic / public transport of course) of the vaccination programme start time to set up ready for the clinic.
2. Employees will attend the designated room to receive their flu vaccination at their chosen time slot.
3. At the end of the vaccination session our nurse takes away all medical waste.

Flu vaccination programmes are a well-received employee benefit to offer. By investing in your employees health you’re also actively tackling absenteeism and reducing productivity lulls that take place due to seasonal illness.
Our flu team will bring the vaccines with them on the day, however, in some instances we use temperature-controlled couriers depending on your location. This is so that we can maintain the cold chain required for the vaccinations. For courier deliveries, we will arrange this in advance and ask for a nominated person to expect delivery. Upon delivery please do not open the box, simply give it to the nurse on their arrival.

The usual duration of an appointment is 5 minutes although it rarely takes that long.
In a half day session we can do 40 vaccinations and during a full day we can do 80 vaccinations.

General flu FAQ's
Seasonal flu is an influenza virus that is highly contagious and causes short term illness (typically 5-7days). Offering flu vaccinations is an easy way to help protect your employees, reduce absenteeism and boost productivity.
The flu season typically runs from December through to April with the flu vaccination period starting at the end of September through to December.
Over time, protection from the flu vaccination gradually decreases and flu strains change. New flu vaccines are produced each year which is why we suggest that people have a new vaccination each year.
Studies have shown that getting a vaccination will help to prevent catching the flu. However, a vaccine will not stop all flu viruses and the level of protection may vary, so it’s not a 100% guarantee that you’ll be flu-free. But, if you do get the flu after a vaccination, it’s likely to be milder and shorter lived than it would otherwise have been.
It is safe for the majority of people to receive a flu vaccination. However if you have had a confirmed anaphylactic reaction to a previous flu vaccination or an allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine then you should not have the jab. The vaccinations that are used are prepared in hen’s eggs and should therefore not be administered to people with known allergies to chicken or egg products.
We do not administer the Quadravalant vaccine to over 65’s as they are entitled to the Trivalant vaccine free of charge from the NHS via their GP.
