Earlier this month, the Government announced that workplace Covid testing would be available to all businesses in England, enabling asymptomatic cases to be detected quickly and preventing workplace outbreaks.
The lateral flow test produces results in less than 30 minutes and with one in three people having the virus without symptoms, testing those without symptoms is crucial in preventing outbreaks within workforces that have to continue operating on-site rather than at home.
If you haven’t yet registered to receive yours, you can order free rapid lateral flow tests to test your employees twice a week in the workplace, but you must register on or before 31 March 2021.
At Healthy Performance, our healthcare professionals have been working with and supporting several UK businesses, providing testing assistance, guidance on having a test and ensuring that the tests are carried out properly and are processed correctly.
This ensures, for large businesses, that the necessary manpower is onsite allowing for large numbers of employees to be tested regularly and efficiently. It also allows smaller businesses who may not have the time or people to fully understand the requirements to ‘sit back’ and allow us to focus on this for them while they prepare for business post-lockdown.
Our healthcare team have been supporting a Government agency over the last few weeks who have said “having the Healthy Performance team on-site helping with our lateral flow testing programme has really helped to reassure our employees. Some individuals are nervous about having a test done and the team have been talking them through the process and ensuring that it is carried out correctly. It also helps our employees to feel safer in the workplace, knowing that everyone is being tested regularly, therefore reducing the chance of an outbreak. Thankfully, we are yet to see a positive test result!”
