Employers striving to improve employee engagement

The need to improve employee engagement is at the top of the agenda in shaping employers’ benefits strategies in 2014, according to research by Employee Benefits magazine.

Employee engagement has been top of the list of issues since 2011 and nearly three quarters of respondents have said that this was the case.

The research also discovered that nearly half of the respondents in the survey had introduced a new benefit in the past 12 months.

Unsurprisingly, pension schemes are top of the pile as the core benefit.  Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) or counselling are the second core benefit and this possibly reflects an increase on stress levels and mental health issues.
